ISLAMABAD, August 9, 2025 — The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reported a dramatic surge in recoveries, reclaiming Rs 456.3 billion in the second quarter of 2025 alone — a staggering Rs 365.29 billion increase compared to the Rs 91.01 billion recovered in the first quarter of the year.
According to an official NAB spokesperson, total recoveries during the first two quarters of 2025 now stand at Rs 547.31 billion, with movable and immovable assets worth Rs 532.33 billion already transferred to various federal and provincial ministries, departments, and financial institutions. Additionally, 12,611 victims of “cheating public at large” cases have been compensated.
Over the past two years, NAB has achieved an unprecedented recovery of Rs 5,854.73 billion (Rs 5.854 trillion) — more than 700% higher than the Rs 839.08 billion recovered since its inception up to that point. The Bureau credits this milestone to the dedication and relentless efforts of its officers in the fight against corruption.
Major Q2 Recoveries
Islamabad: NAB Rawalpindi retrieved 51 Kanal of prime state land worth Rs 29 billion in Sector E-11, handing it over to the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
B4U Case: Rs 3 billion recovered for 17,214 victims, with an additional Rs 4 billion expected in the current quarter.
Banker’s City Case: Secured 640 Kanal and 11 Marla of high-value land for affected individuals.
Sukkur: NAB reclaimed Rs 25.079 billion worth of land for the National Highway Authority (NHA).
Sindh Education Department: Recovered 127 Kanal & 15 Marla of land valued at Rs 895.16 million.
Forest Land: Rs 384.27 billion worth of forest land recovered in Q2, bringing the total to Rs 1,487.77 billion.
Eden Housing Case: Rs 3.2 billion disbursed to 11,880 victims.
Pak Arab Case: Eight properties worth Rs 3.9 billion surrendered; funds to benefit 2,500 victims.
Elite Town Housing: Plea bargain of Rs 2.181 billion in process for 1,789 victims.
Future Targets & Commitment
NAB estimates that state land worth approximately Rs 5 trillion remains under illegal occupation nationwide and has pledged to intensify recovery operations in collaboration with provincial revenue departments.
Reaffirming its dedication to protecting public resources, NAB stressed that its mission is rooted in transparency, accountability, and justice. The Bureau called on all stakeholders, from government bodies to the general public, to support ongoing anti-corruption measures that directly benefit citizens and safeguard national wealth.
